Using Splatt

Terms of use for the current free beta. Updated 22 October 2026.

A shared record of spending

Splatt helps you record shared expenses, split costs, manage household bills and understand who owes whom. Use it with people you know, and check the amount, currency, payer and participants before saving.

Splatt does not hold money, transfer money or connect to your bank. It does not verify external bank transfers. Arrange and make payments separately using a method you and the other person agree.

A recorded repayment stays awaiting confirmation until the recipient confirms they received it. That confirmation is the recipient's record of receipt, not independent verification by Splatt.

Keep your account and shared records safe

Use an account you control and keep your password, sign-in links and verification codes private. Do not try to access another person's private information or change records you are not authorised to manage.

Only add accurate information you are entitled to share. Do not put banking passwords, PINs, card security codes or unrelated personal information in expenses, receipt items or notes. Other participants can see the shared records that involve them.

If you find a mistake, use the available correction controls or contact support. Do not assume an expense or payment was saved until Splatt confirms it.

Receipt photos and calculations

Receipt recognition runs on your device and can misread items or prices. Check the photo, any highlighted uncertainty and the people sharing each item. A verified total means the recognised financial lines reconcile; it is not proof that every item was read correctly.

Amounts are recorded in integer minor units and currencies stay separate. Splatt does not provide exchange-rate conversion, banking services or financial advice.

Read the receipt and correction guidance.

Availability during the beta

Splatt is currently free. The website and its providers have usage limits, and service interruptions can occur. Keep any original receipts or other records you need independently of Splatt.

The beta can change as problems are fixed. These terms describe the current product; they do not promise uninterrupted availability or confirm that an App Store release has been approved.

Leaving and deleting your account

You can remove a friend, leave a group where permitted, or delete your account from Settings. Removing a connection or deleting an account does not erase shared financial history or settle an outstanding balance.

Account deletion removes private account access and anonymises the retained identity. Shared records needed by other participants remain. See the privacy information for the current retention behaviour and how to raise a concern.
